Annual report 2023 now online!

The joint 2023 annual report of the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Human Security and the International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at the Local and Regional Levels is now available online, highlighting the many synergies between our institutions.

The annual report provides an overview of the collaboration between the Centre and the Chair in 2023, including information on the thirdedition of the joint flagship event “Human Rights Go Local: What Works”, as well as the many activities, events and publications undertaken to promote human rights in Graz and beyond.

The joint work programme focuses on building capacity for the protection of human rights in the spirit of the United Nations’ vision of “leaving no one behind”, emphasising the importance of human rights education and research and the role of cities and local governments in the realisation of human rights.

Together, our 13 staff members supervised 24 Masters and PhD theses, taught 15 university courses, participated in 30 research and cooperation projects in 16 countries, and authored or edited 24 publications.
We reached almost 35,000 people online and organised 85 events.
