The joint annual report 2021 of the International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at Local and Regional Levels under the auspices of UNESCO (Category 2 Centre) and the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Human Security is now available online!

The joint work programme focuses on developing capacities for human rights protection in the spirit of the UN’s vision of “leaving no one behind,” emphasizing the importance of human rights education and research, as well as the role of cities and local governments in human rights realisation. Together, our 16 staff members provided 12 university courses, supervised 24 master and doctoral theses, took part in 27 research and cooperation projects, conducted 42 interviews and authored/edited 48 publications in 2021. Our activities extended to 17 countries and reached more than 34,000 persons online.
The annual report provides an overview of the Centre’s and Chair’s cooperation in 2021, as well as the activities, events, and publications that were carried out. We anticipate many exciting and fruitful years ahead!
